A Sad Day in France
Yesterday was a sad day in France as we were informed that Brigitte Bardot had passed away, aged 91. It was one of those events when you will always remember where you were when you heard the news. The French TV channels played hommage for most of the day, rightly so as she was and will always be a French Icon in all senses of the word.
It as if she was born before her time, she was never afraid to speak up about things she felt passionately about in a time where women were considered as objects to seen and not heard and men held all the power. She loved animals all her life and spent the last 50 years dedicated to making the world a better place for them.
The Gypsy Kings call her their guardian angel as it was thanks to her that they became famous around the world.
Fame came at a price, she was mobbed everywhere she went and stated in her last interview, it was a horrible thing to deal with and no doubt contributed to her withdrawing from acting aged 39 to dedicate her life to her animals which lead to the creation of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
Gone, but never forgotten, she will live forever in the hearts of people and animals around the world ♥♥
Rest in Peace BB x
