French Food Friday - Matcha Madeleines

 


As you know I love matcha and  the French appear to love it as much as I do.

So this weekend my plan is to whip up some yummy matcha madeleines.

This is the recipe I plan on using.


FOR 20 TO 30 MINI-MADELEINES

Preparation: 20 mins

Cooking: 10  mins

Rest: 30 mins

Ingredients

1 egg

60g of sugar

10 g ground almonds 

60g flour

1 pinch of baking powder

6g matcha green tea

60g melted butter


Preparation

1. Whisk the egg with the sugar.

2. Sift the almond powder, baking powder, flour and matcha tea then add everything to the previous mixture. Add the melted butter and mix until the mixture is smooth. Leave to rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

3. Butter your mold if it is not silicone. Using a pastry bag, fill the madeleine molds to three quarters. Leave to rest for another 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

4. Preheat your oven to 200°C and cook for 4 minutes then lower it to 180°C and continue to cook for around 5 minutes.

5. When the madeleines are cooked, take them out of the oven and let them cool before enjoying them with a nice cup of green tea .
