Another fairytale village

 

France has so many beautiful villages, the most beautiful are classified and awarded the label "les plus beaux village".

There are 172 plus beaux villages in France and when visiting a new region in France, we check to see if there are any villages to visit that have this classification.

On Saturday on our way to Rodez, we visited the beautiful village of Belcastel.

The village is medieval with cobbled streets and lauze-roofed houses. The bulk of the village and the castle are situated on the steep north bank of the river Aveyron.

It really looks like something you would see in a fairytale.
