France and stripes

 

The French love their stripes, there are three on the french flag, the French navy wear stripey shirts and it was those stripes that inspired Coco Chanel to create the "mariniere", a classic French T Shirt that is timeless and a staple in any wardrobe.

 The same applies to French interior design and the first  photo of Ralph Lauren's restaurant in Paris, shows us how stripes can add some nautical charm to an outside area even if you are not near the sea.

Sadly we are land locked today but I will be popping on my "mariniere" and dreaming on the days by the sea...
