New Arrivals -Candlelight and Crystals....
Bonjour from a chilly SW France,
The sun is hiding today and it is chilly. Perfect weather for staying indoors and photographing some items to add to our online shop.
First up is this fabulous, French antique church candlestick dating to the late 1800s which at some time in it's life, has been converted into an electric table lamp.
It is made from gilded matal with acanthus leaf design and lion feet. There are 3 faces which represent Jesus, Holy Mary and Joseph and it has a lovely patine that only comes with time.
It is a lovely object which would look at home on a mantle, desk, dressing table, sideboard etc.
For those of you that like some romance, this pair of vintage wall sconces dripping with crystals would make a perfect addition to any French inspired decor. They can be used as they are with candles of you could rewire them if you want to use them electrified.
Friends of ours have them throughout their chateau and have never had theirs electrified. There is something about flickering candle light.
Or if you prefer you could use them with battery operated wax candles. Mine even have a remote control, which I adore using.
