Happy Fat Tuesday/ Mardi Gras

 

Today is Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual Lenten sacrifices and fasting of the Lenten season.

I totally forgot about this until French Boyfriend arrived for lunch today and told me he was not hungry as he had been eating donuts.

The French love donuts and they eat a lot of them for Mardi Gras,  each region has their own recipe which they make and eat today.
