Chatelaine or Inside out Handbags

I have foun an amazing article about chatelaines which I just have to share with you.

Chatelaines or as we now refer to them;  inside out handbags, have existed  back as far as ancient times, when women of the Roman Empire wore them with toiletry tools such as ear scoops, nail cleaners, tweezers etc.  

The 17th, 18th and 19th century versions were adorned  with precious stones, fancy designs and often included a watch, purse,a perfume bottle and even a snuff container.
