The very fabulous Pierre Cardin

I am the first to admit that I have limited knowledge when it comes to Pierre Cardin, apart from the fact that he owns a ruined chateau in the Louberon which he is having restored.

The reason I know this is because we visited the village on our last visit to the Louberon and a local  mentioned it was owned by Pierre Cardin. You can read about the history of the chateau and see photos here.

I started to do a little research and this is what I found.

Pierre Cardin is an Italian-born naturalised-French fashion designer. He is known for his avant-garde style and his Space Age designs. He prefers geometric shapes and motifs, often ignoring the female form. He advanced into unisex fashions, sometimes experimental, and not always practical.

He is 97 years old and lives and works in Paris.

Cardin is known for his acute intuition, which often made him a trendsetter and design leader.

We have been lucky enough to source some vintage sunglasses made by Pierre Cardin in the 60's/70's. These came from a boutique that closed in the 70's and have been hidden in a box until now. 

They were really before their time and when worn, they really make a statement and make you want to dress accordingly....
