bon week-end

Bonjour from a rainy SW France,

We live in an area of France that is lovely and green, you can guess the rest. The reason that it is so lovely and green is because it rains a lot. April was an unusual month as it did not rain and it was very warm. May is one of the months where it rains a lot and one year it rained for 20 days.

Great for plants but not so good for us but on the positive side, we are still confined to our houses so it is not as though we can spend a lot of time out and about.

May is a fabulous month for the fetes des fleurs',  every village has one and you can buy plants and flowers from local growers. Unfortunately these have been cancelled this year but we look forward to next years event and in the mean time, the garden centers are open for business.

I cannot imagine life without flowers and we are thankful for a local peony producer who we are able to still buy from and their delivery service as the peony season is short and life without these fabulous flowers would simply not be the same.
