Paris - if you love macarons

Then you just have to make a visit to one of the Ladurée boutiques in Paris.

Ladurée (French pronunciation: [la. dy. ʁe]) is a French luxury bakery and sweets maker house created in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée, who moved from  SW France to Paris and thought it would be a good idea to open a boulangerie

9 years later, there was a fire in the boulangerie which resulted in the shop having to be rebuilt and Louis and his wife decided to specialise in cakes as opposed to bread.

You can read more about the history of Ladurée here
It is one of the world's best-known premier sellers of the double-decker macaron, 15,000 of which are sold every day.

Such pretty colours and the interior's of the Laduree boutiques really are "sugar and spice and everything nice".

My favourite flavour is caramel but I have been known to eat most flavours as I cannot resist a macaron especially when they are fresh with the lovely crispy exterior and the creme filling just melts in your mouth. Paris in just one bite.

Here is the menu so you can pick your preferred flavour....

And to think that it started with a young boulanger moving from SW France to Paris to open a boulangerie.....

Très belle journée à tous, Leeann x
