Spot the difference...

The french call it Trompe-l'œil which translates to deceive the eye.
I think that this is a great example of this kind of art work.


The volets/shutters that you see to the right of the photo are real and the man on the balcony and the tree are not.

I adore it and think that it transforms a blank wall into something special. What do you think? Do you agree....dites-moi!

  4. actually i first looked at your picture and thought "Oh Leeann made a painting! " didn;t relise it was a picture of a street at first glance...

  6. I too love trompe-l'oeil. i have serval pictures that were fabulous taken in Quebec City, Canada as well as some taken in France.

    Oh yes, you are right in this one! One might get bored of the same scene after a long while but it does lift up one's spirits for happy thoughts. A window with blue skies looking inward is quite funny!
