Fabulous Friday fleurs....

Just around the corner from our house are the remains of a 13th century convent (couvent in French).

Most of the original building has long since disappeared with only the walls remaining.

I love the contrast of the fragileness of the delicate rose, against the ancient white stone walls which have been standing for over 700 years.

700 years, that equates to a lot of Fridays, where ever and what ever you are doing, hope that it is a magical Friday for you.....

  23. Hi Leeann
    Just lovely.
I wonder who planted that rose and how long ago.
Maybe it is one of the original Bourbon roses that came to France in 1819 from Ile de Bourbon - now Reunion Island.
Whatever it's story, she is certainly 'La belle rose'!!
