French Food Friday - Creamy Limoncello Italian Ricotta Cake

 


This week we are celebrating  French Boyfriend's birthday and as he is half Italian and half French, I thought that an Italian inpsired dessert was required.

We were given a bottle of limoncello so I had a quick search on the internet and found this fabulous recipe.

It turned out well and French Boyfriend adores it, so much so he is off to buy us a second bottle of limoncello.

I think that he is scared we will not have enough to pour over the cake before serving.


The texture is amazing and we both adored it as it is not overly sweet.

Next time I will make it, I will use smaller molds as the heart shaped molds I used were a little large and ideally it would be nice to make 4 or 6 smaller portions.
