"Bonjour" - "Bonsoir"
Bonjour or bonsoir.
A conversation starter that can sometimes be annoying in France if you start with one of these words and the other person replies with the other.
According to Le Figaro, "bonsoir" replaces "bonjour" between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Please note that it's never impolite to say Bonjour "even after dark" as it is better than saying nothing at all.
Finally Bonne nuit which is used at the end of the evening and normally before going to bed.
Belle journee ♥
