The perfect weekend

We have just returned from spending a couple of  nights by the sea in Biscarrosse or as the locals call it "Bisca". We almost didn't go as the weather forecast was for rain on Friday and freezing cold on Sunday. Combined with the fact both of us were receovering from bad colds, we were debating whether or not we should stay home.

The problem was that when I made the reservation two weeks ago, the weather forecast was telling us it was going to be warm and sunny.

Driving to the coast it was just overcast so we thought this is not going to be as bad as we anticipated.

However 10 minutes before we were plannng on arriving, the heavens opened and it started raining very heavily.

Needless to say French Boyfriend was not happy as I reassured him that was a temporary setback as it was supposed to be cloudy on Saturday and sunny on Sunday. I just left out the fact that it was going to be glowing a gale on Saturday and freezing minus 4 on Sunday.

Thankfully the accommodation I had booked was as fabulous as it had looked in the photos, it was also warm and cosy.

Saturday as predicted, turned out to be cloudy and we were grateful the rain had disappeared.

My plan was to spend hours walking along the beach but this was not possible as it was very windy and freezing cold.

The beach was amazing and the colours were amazing.

Two days by the sea was exactly what we needed and we plan to return to Biscarrosse when the weather has improved.

The most valuable lesson I have learnt is not to rely on the weather forecast and wait before reserving a place to stay.

Belle semaine a tous from a freezing (-5°) SW France♥
