Fun in the sun

 Bonjour from a chilly SW France,

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Despite having plenty to do around the house, we decided to make the best of the sunshine and visit a chateau that we had not visited for a very long time.

Chateau de Biron is one of the largest chateaux in SW France and it has featured in a number of French films.

It has a fascinating hitsory which you can read about here.

The chateau's chapel has a link to New York as two of it's orginal 15th century statues from can be found in the Metropolitan Museum.

So we had  to make do with looking at some very realistic and well made copies of the original statues.

There was not a lot of furniture in the chateau but it was nice to see a dining room which had a stunning and very large chandelier.

The attic was aamazing and it was wonderful to have a close up view of how the roof was constructed.

Thankfully visiting on Saturday proved to be a good idea as Sunday turned out to be a very cold and cloudy day. One of those days when all you want to do is stay in.

Here's hoping the sun returns again soon.
