French Food Friday - Petits pains à la betterave
If you love beetroot, you will love this recipe.
I have made them a few times and we are now addicted to them. French Boyfriend eats his with goats cheese and beetroot whereas I eat mine with carrot, cheese and tomato.
I hopoe you enjoy them as much as we do.
Petits pains à la betterave
300g pre-cooked red beets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoons of salt
100 g walnuts (optional)
10 g of fresh baker's yeast
Cut the beetroot into small pieces then mix in food processor for 30 sec.
Disolve bakers yeat in 50ml warm water.
Place flour, salt, olive oil, beetroot and yeast in mixer and mix for 3 minutes.
Remove the dough, place in a container, cover with a tea towel and leave to rest for 1 hour.
Form 4 rolls with the dough, place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper and let rise again for 1 hour.
Bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 12-15 minutes.
