French Food Friday - Poires gratinées au roquefort
This is one of our favorite dessert recipes, pears and roquefort is always a great combination.
Poires gratinées au roquefort
150 g of Roquefort 4 nice, not too ripe pears 75 g of mascarpone 30 g pine nuts 1 small glass of port or banyuls 1/2 lemon
Turn on the oven grill. Peel the pears and cut them in half. Rub them immediately with the lemon half to prevent the flesh from darkening. Using a teaspoon, remove the core and make a slightly larger hole. Arrange these half-pears on a platter. Crush the Roquefort with the mascarpone and the port and fill the center of the pears. Sprinkle with pine nuts, pepper and brown under the grill the for about 10 minutes. Serve with the same wine as you used to mix the cheese mixture with.
