Suspended in time

Late last year, one of French boyfriend's loved Aunts passed away and we have recently spent a lot of time sorting through her possessions.

She was 95 years old and she certainly lived life to the full.
She completed her training as a fashion designer in the late 50's and needless to say she had the most fabulous taste in clothes and interior design.

Yoga was a passion of hers and she loved to travel at a time when few people traveled so she really was an adventurous soul. Ironically we love the same places; Italy, Majorca, Istanbul, Morocco and Venice are a few that spring to mind.

She spent a lot of time in Paris and has a lot of books on Versailles which just happens to be my most loved places in France.

Cooking was a favourite past time and her kitchen is full of fabulous cooking books and drawers filled with ripped out magazine pages. I used to do this but now print out recipes from the internet.

We have saved a lot of the pages we found and we look forward to recreating this recipes and remembered her as we make them.

Her favourite perfume is Guerlain's L'heure Bleue and it lingers in her bedroom and numerous closets.

The bottle itself is amazing, it is made from baccarat crystal and features a heart shaped stopper.

The perfume is known as the perfume suspended in time and was worn by many famous Parisians.

We are selling three fabulous vintage guerlain l'heure perfume bottles, which you can see and read about here.

Suspended in time sums up how I feel at present as it seems like everything has been put on hold and the world has stopped going around or is going slower than I would like.

Amicalement from a still sunny SW France, Leeann x

  1. I'm so glad that you can go through her things and keep those that have sentiment for you. She sounds like an amazing lady, and that she left beautiful memories to be remembered by. When I cook things from my great granny's cookbooks I never fail to feel her near. I wish the same for you!
