Today..

My plan for today is to put on a pretty dress.......and spend most of the morning watching the wedding of the gorgeous Kate (Catherine) to the very handsome William.

We will toast the couple with Champagne and then enjoy a celebratory lunch.

Wishing this lovely couple a lifetime of happiness and fun...

the weekend....

Wish that I could say that we spent most of the weekend like the couple in the photo above, but alas no we spent most of the weekend working.

I have put a table and chairs, similar to the one above, on the terrace at our other house along with some fabulous antique pots which I have yet to buy some plants for.

Merci beaucoup to all of you that suggested plants which do not like a lot of water, I will bear these in mind when we are shopping this week.

Managed to fit in a vide grenier at the weekend and returned with a few items including an antique mannequin, which I will photograph and show you later in the week.

For lunch today the plan was to have a picnic by the river and all was going well until a few drops of liquid sunshine appeared!

friday flowers/earth day....

.......wow what a busy day it is today, not only is it Good Friday but it is also Earth day. We are planning on spending the day spring cleaning at my other house which is currently for sale. I have bought a fabulous antique garden table and chairs and some antique pots which I am going to fill with plants. Note any ideas on hardy plants that do not need a lot of water would be appreciated......

The best nana a girl could wish for...

{our darling nana}

As I write this post, I am only too aware of the fact that my family are preparing to attend the funeral of my darling nana who passed away last week, in New Zealand.

I have mixed emotions; sadness that I have lost my nan but at the same time happy to have had such a great Nana.

A Nana ,who never judged but I know at times, would have liked to give me a good telling off, a nana who encouraged me to travel ( almost 1/2 my lifetime) and always told me to do what I wanted to do.

For all of these reasons and so many more, I am eternally grateful.

I am also grateful to my angel of a sister- Donna, who did so much for my nana in the last months of her life, right up to organising the arrangements for today's funeral. I realise how hard it has been for you and mum helplessly watching dear nana fade away.

Although it will never make up for being there in person, I am there in spirit.

vendredi fleurs...

We were on the way to a friends house when I saw this house. It was all closed up, in typical French fashion, but there was something magical about the garden. So fabulously untouched.

So a couple of days later, I returned and took these photos...

Love the front gate and the way that it is slightly hidden, if I was the owner, I would leave it like this....a perfect weekend hideaway!

This photo was taken from the side of the house, think that we would have to cut the lawn a little....

But this is my favourite photo, I adore the idea of finding a house with a secret garden and love the fact that it is slightly wild and overgrown ...

vendredi fleurs...

This weeks photo was taken in our village. There is something about wisteria or glycine as it is known in France, that is timeless and it has a certain allure.

The hot weather is set to continue here in SW France until next Thursday so I have been spending the week painting my shutters/volets and in the evenings we have been have lakeside picnic suppers.

Last night it was especially warm late in the evening and it made me think of lovely tropical evenings in Queensland, Australia - well a girl can dream can't she? Enough dreaming, it is back to the painting for me.

a petite project...

{easter decorations in my wee boutique}

Well it has been a hot couple of days here in SW France and we made the best of the sunshine whilst it lasted. Today was a little or should I say very grey and a little rainy so I have spent some time making a couple of decorations for the Fabulously French Showroom.

To make these pots look a little more eastery I placed some fresh moss inside and then arranged a few plastic speckled eggs which I found on ebay.

The second project was a little more complicated and took a little more time.I used a twig structure that I previously used as a decoration for Christmas, as a base. I hung more of the wee speckled eggs on the structure then covered it with fresh moss.

I then placed it on top of a vintage champagne bucket and it is now standing in my showroom window.

.....the finished result....

Well mes amies, I am tres fatigue after all this hard? work on a very calm and still grey dimanche and are now off for a wee siesta....

Bonjour from a very sunny SW France. The weather forecast is for a high of 24 degrees today and 25 degrees for tomorrow. So the plan is to spend today exploring some new places.

Note in typical "me" fashion I realised that the battery for my camera was flat so am just waiting for it to complete charging.It is times like these when I realise that I need to buy a spare....
