After many weeks of a storm being forecast and never arriving, we awoke to rain this morning. J'adore la pluie!
I adore the sound and the smell of rain, there is nothing nicer after weeks of heat and dust.
It is indeed liquid sunshine, for me anyway.
Bonne journee/soiree depending on when you are in the world....

The "two girls in avignon" panel in its final resting place, I adore it and never get sick of looking at it.
Mathilde M curtain panels, love the texture and we are also stocking the matching pillows - fabulous and oh so French.

{brocante in our village yesterday}
It seems like the whole of France has brocante fever, every village appears to be having one or is going to have one within the next month or so.
Yesterday our village had one and I can think of nothing nicer than looking at gorgeous objects under the shade of the trees - I always think that chandeliers look best hung from a tree rather than inside a store. It is like they are free.............
Bought a couple of fabulous items, will try and photograph them later as they are bound for my online shop.

{who needs a garden when you have a balcony?}
This is a another of the photos that I took in Wednesday but though I would save it for my Friday flowers post.
I am a little late with this post but it is a little hectic here at present.
Fabulously French is now stocking Mathilde M, a fabulous french range of fabulous products for "elle" - most of which smell fabulous and the fragrance of which, is currently wafting through Maison No. 20 as my order arrived early. It was not supposed to arrive until next week which meant that I have had a huge box to deal with along with everything else.
I particularly love the anncienne rose room spray and have sprayed it in our bedroom - even Mr FF likes it.
They also have a lovely range of cushions and curtains so I am hoping that Mr FF will hang a couple for me at the weekend.
We have also had a mention on a B&B website which I am very happy about, see here for details and also I have been lucky enough to win a couple of giveaways but will save that until they arrive....

Tomorrow is France’s national holiday Fête Nationale (Bastille Day for Anglophones). I am sure that most of you already know the history behind Bastille day, but for those of you who would like to know a little more please click here.
It is one of my favourite days of the year to be in France as everyone, young and old across France comes out to celebrate this very important day.
We are hoping that the weather will be fine tomorrow for the village fireworks as today is quite overcast and humid.
Thought this photo was appropriate as it has two of my favourite French items, the flag and the fabulous 2CV.

Did your weekend whiz by? Ours seemed to whiz past before we knew it and Monday/lundi is upon us again.
It was very hot here and hopefully a storm will arrive later today, to cool things down a bit.
As you can see from the above picture the kitchen is progressing and we have the splasback above the stove to go and then a few finishing touches such as hooks under shelves etc. I always find that the bigger pieces of work are easier than the finishing details as I can spend hours sourcing particular items - maybe this is just me.
Yesterday was spent painting an old antique iron bed which I am planning on putting in one of the apartments at Maison No. 20.
I have painted it in my latest favourite Farrow and Ball colour "Charleston Gray" and it is looking fabulous. Once it is finished I will show you a photo......
Also on my painting list is a couple of antique bedside tables which I picked up for the princely sum of 10 euros - merci beaucoup Martine! and will be using these in our bedroom.
So that is pretty much our weekend, how was yours? I am now off to start the ironing/repassage before it gets too hot!

This morning I received the very sad news that my Mother's "baby" aka Leroy the gorgeous bichon frise, had passed away, aged 14 years.
“Leroy” will always be in our hearts and memories and all my love goes out to my Mum, sister Donna and brother in law Jason who I know are so terribly devastated at the loss of their "monkey boy".

Such a gorgeous chambre with everything that I love.....old floor tiles, toile de jouy bed coverings, hot air balloon and a fabulous antique basket.Tout est parfait!
